Connectig with God [children's story aobut prayer or for a communion service]

Who here has grandparents that live a long way away from you? (Do you know where they live?)

How do you connect with them?

· Do you visit them sometimes? Maybe at Christmas?

· Do you write letters, or cards, for their birthdays?

· What about video calls or FaceTime? Who does that?

· Who do you video call with? What do you talk about?

My parents live all the way down in Melbourne.

Who can find Australia? (globe) and where are we in Australia? And where is Melbourne?

We sometimes video call my parents down in Melbourne.

Let’s connect to my parents now, Let’s video call my dad – maybe he can show us one of his pets - he has lots of pets.

· Where are you in the world?
· What time is it there Time
· Weather/season
· Show us a pet?

I have a fried overseas, let's call them! (same questions as above, find them on the globe)

--

Do you think God has any pets?

We should connect to Him and ask. Should we try and FaceTime God?

I don’t have his number to connect that way, hmmm.

Send a TXT? An email? Letter?

How else can we connect?

Pray!

Praying is a great way to connect with God in Heaven. (Where on globe is heaven.)

One day we can meet God and then we’ll really be able to connect with him. But until then, to connect with God we can pray, we can read our Bibles, and we can spend time in nature.

All these help us connect with God, and get to know him better.

Today we're having a special church service that helps us remember Jesus dying to save us, and this is another way to help us connect with God.

Thanks for being great listeners today. There’s an activity sheet up the back for you,

Happy Sabbath to you all!
