Need clipboard, pen, Bible text sheets x 3

Who likes playing hide and seek?
We’re going to play hide and seek today.
Need an older child to go and hide, and everyone else's job is to find them.
Now the hiders job is to copy out as much of this Bible Text before they are found.

Ok so you're our fist hider. Here's the bible text and a pencil. you job is to find somewhere in this room, no going through any doors, or out any windows, and finding a spot to write out as much of this bible text before your get found. We'll count to 10 and then start looking and when you get tagged, your time is up.

Ok everyone turn around and faces to the ground, no peaking. lets count...

Very good, lets see how much you got written out.

Let's try another person.

Very good, lets see how much you got written out.

Did you know there once was a man who played hide and seek and it took people 12 years to find him. He was hiding all through Europe because he was copying out the Bible into English so people could read it. But at the time that was illegal! So much so that they wanted to catch him and lock him. But this man, called William Tyndale helped get the bible into a language many people could read for themselves and discover Jesus.

One more time?

Well done. You can go back to your seats.

----------
William Tyndale for approximately 12 years, lived as a fugitive, moving around Europe while trying to translate the Bible into English.

What makes his story particularly remarkable is that he wasn’t hiding because he was a criminal. He was hiding because he wanted ordinary people to be able to read the Bible for themselves.

Why was Tyndale hiding? In the early 1500s, the Bible was predominantly available in Latin in Western Europe. Most ordinary English people couldn’t read Latin. They relied on priests to explain the Scriptures to them.

Tyndale believed this was wrong. He wanted the Bible translated into everyday English so that even an ordinary farm worker could read and understand God’s Word.
