What a Friend [Church welcome]

Performance: Castle Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church - April 6, 2019

[What a friend we have in Jesus is sung by the church first]

What a friend we have in Jesus.

Who here IS a friend of Jesus?

I see a few of you didn’t put up your hands. You’re probably like me:

I’m keen to be a friend of Jesus, but when I went looking, I couldn’t find His Facebook account to friend him. Not an official account anyway so maybe he doesn’t really have an account.

If Jesus were on Facebook, do you think he would send a friend request to EVERYONE in the world? It’s then just up to us to accept his friend request. And we can invite others to be his friend too. Share his posts.

I don’t know about you but I don’t think Jesus would ever unfriend anyone!
It's only ever us who unfriends Jesus?

Do you think we’ll have a Facebook or Instagram or some heavenly equivalent when we get to heaven? We can post pics of all the fabulous places we visit around the universe and all the intriguing food we’ll experience. And we can see what worlds our friends have been traveling?

No?

What about slide projector shows then, will we go to a friend’s house for a few years and watch slide shows of their travel adventures from the past thousand years? Of course they’ll be 12 dimensional slide shows. Not like the old days.

If there was Facebook during Jesus time on earth, do you think he’d have used it to share his parables? Maybe he’d post memes

Do you think posting a video of him healing lepers on Facebook back then would go viral?

Jesus healed lepers, the lame, the blind, often saying it is their faith that has healed them.

There’s no record of Jesus healing baldness, is there? Nor healing a lack of sense of humor.

Yes... what a friend we have in Jesus.

Oh yes, welcome, everyone. BTW.
Especially to those visiting. Do stay for lunch so we can meet you.

Our Pr will be sharing a message with us soon. I have great faith he will inspire those of us who stay awake.

Just kidding, I’m sue he’ll inspire those sleeping too.

Hope you all have a blessed time with us this morning.
