Many skills makes toilet flush

Performance: Castle Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church - May 2, 2021

Some quick questions kids:

  • Who did not eat all their food this week, because they thought something was yucky?
  • Slept in a house?
  • Drank water?
  • Went to school?
  • Flushed the toilet after using it?

You are all very blessed to be able to do all those things. There’s many boys and girls around the world who couldn’t do all those things.

Today I’d like your help to have my picture drawn.
My wife is away this weekend and I thought it would be nice to have a nice picture of myself I can give her, so next time she goes away she can take the picture to remember how handsome I am.
I’d use a photo but thought if we do a drawing I can have some extra hair added.

Act 1: Friday Dismay

[Eerie middle easy music plays. James is crouching on stage, Simon approaches not noticing him]

James: PSSST, Simon, over here!

Simon: James? Is that you?

James: Yeah, come here

Simon: It’s so dark this afternoon!

James: [short embrace] Get down. Where have you been?

Simon: I hid down the valley overnight. Man that mob was possessed last night… but you obviously got away.

James: Yeah, good to see you.

Simon: What’s happening up there?

James: They’re about to try and put teacher on a cross.

That’s Not Fair [an adult’s children’s story skit]

Performance: Castle Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church - March 27, 2021

[Jesus loves me plays on the  piano as the several narrator children line up across stage, each holding a book, and will read a line each after each other]

Hello adults! It’s now time for your story.

So please sit quietly and keep your hands to yourselves.

Unless you’re married, then you can hold hand.

Have you all had a good week, not at school?

Now do you remember when you were a child, it seemed like many things were unfair.
  • You had to eat your peas, when all you wanted was chips
  • You had to clean your room when all you wanted to do was play
  • You had to go to bed when everyone else could stay up
  • Your little brother or sister broke the toy that you were forced to share with them
  • Or maybe all your friends had a colour TV, when yours was black and white.

So Thirsty [puppet play about thirsting for somethgin more: Jesus]

Performance: Castle Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church Online service - November 14, 2020

Psalm 63. Thirsting for Jesus. The temptations of this world, very subtly mentioned in this play, just don't satisfy like our living water, Jesus, does.

[ Derick Dealer and Thirsty Theo walk up to each other]

Derick: [cheery] G'day mate

Theo: [sad] Hi

Derick: What’s up with you?

Theo: I’m really thirsty!

Derick: Thirsty? Why is that? What have you been doing?

Theo: Dunno. I was just driving around the city all day in my new BMW 7 series and... I didn't think I could be, but... now I’m thirsty.

Derick: Hmm, did you get out of your car at all?

Theo: Yeah?

Derick: We’re you wearing a hat?

Theo: Yeah?

Derick: Oh. Well what kind?

Theo: A Rabbitohs cap. [insert popular local sports team that can't seem to win a grand final - or the pastors team]

Derick: Oh... I see!

Theo: What?
